FIND THE TIME
This is one of the most common excuses for not exercising. In most instances, you will need to alter your schedule around work or family. See if you can fit in an early morning, late night or lunch break workout.
DO IT FOR YOUR KIDS
If you’re a parent, restart your fitness journey and make your kids proud. Often parents can feel guilty for taking the time to do something for themselves, but exercise is a great way to boost endorphins and increase your energy levels.
If making it to the gym is difficult around your kids schedule. You can still complete an efficient workout from the comfort of your own home by using your kids as extra weight, or grab yourself some household items to use for extra weight.
MAKE YOURSELF ACCOUNTABLE
If you’re not sure where to start by making yourself accountable, a great place to start is by joining a challenge or teaming up with a workout partner. By having a support network, you’re more likely to train harder and keep yourself accountable.
BE REALISTIC WITH YOUR GOALS
When you’ve fallen off the wagon, going from zero to 100 overnight is unrealistic. Start with setting smaller goals and reward yourself when you hit each milestone. Maybe you might start with working out twice per week. Once you’re consistent and start building up your fitness levels again, aim to increase one workout every few weeks. You’ll start to feel better and by starting small, you’re more likely to stay on track long-term.
